I downloaded a program that lets you set Morrowind's resolution without starting the game, and it says it's missing the registry keys. I looked for the registry files (where they say Morrowind stores the settings) but couldn't find any. I removed the read only flag from everything but the settings keep going back to default. I tried not using compatibility and just setting it to run as admin, but the above mentioned loop happens all the same.
Morowind volume reset windows#
I tried compatibility (with every kind of windows version known to man) and it opens the admin thing, I say yes, it opens the pre-start menu from where I choose the datafiles and such, I press play, it enters a loop where it opens the adin thing, I press yes, and it reopens the pre-start windows again. The game never crashed before resetting the settings. It's gotten to the point where I click on the icon, open the pre-start windows, change the resolution there, save, exit Morrowind and when I click the icon again the resolution there is back to default. It even reset the pre-start options (where you can choose the graphic card and a resolution up to 1600x1200).

I changed them to what I wanted but they didn't stay there. This morning I start the game and all settings are back to default. The settings were still good, same as before uninstalling. Otherwise, a merchant’s inventory never changes. Some merchants have some commodities that restock basically instantly (after you buy them and barter again, even in the same conversation, they’ll be restocked). For me, when I tried to run Morrowind and the launcher as an administrator while running MWE, MWE came up with an error, something to the effect of Morrowind being the wrong version. It doesn’t work like the later games, where the merchant’s entire inventory is reset after days. If you use Morrowind Enhanced (MWE), you do things slightly differently.
