And the Tomb of Horrors was intended to be a subterranean temple complex devoted to Orcus. In the Vast Swamp, Acererak constructed the Tomb of Horrors. Vecna eventually found out, and not long after Kas was promoted to Vampire Lieutenant, Acererak was given leave to relocated to the Vast Swamp. Though in truth, this was a plot by Acererak, to place his master in mortal peril, in order to grow in his favor. As a result, Vecna bestowed great favor on Acererak, promoting him to general of his undead armies.
